    Downgrading the Client

    Download the 1.0 minecraft.jar

Most people will not, but if you need the old loader you can get that here. It's in a gzip file, but most extraction tools can handle it.

    Windows
Go to the minecraft install directory by navigating to:
    Code:
    %USERPROFILE%\.minecraft\bin

    OR

    %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin

Replace the minecraft.jar with the file you downloaded above. Rename the minecraft1.0.0.jar to minecraft.jar. Then run Minecraft.exe.

    Linux
Go to the minecraft install directory by navigating to:
    Code:
    /home/user/.minecraft/bin/
Replace the minecraft.jar with the file you downloaded above. Rename the minecraft1.0.0.jar to minecraft.jar. Then run the file.

    Mac
Go to the minecraft install directory by navigating to:
    Code:
    ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/
Replace the minecraft.jar with the file you downloaded above. Rename the minecraft1.0.0.jar to minecraft.jar. Then start Minecraft like you normally would.

To re-update to 1.1, go back in and delete the minecraft.jar. It will be downloaded when you run the loader. Or if you saved it by renaming the 1.1 jar, put it back as minecraft.jar and you're good to go!

Thanks to the AllGamer wiki for the downgrade info!
