Since there seems to be a lot of confusion about this I'll see if we can't dispell a few myths that seem to have been perpetuated about how one might "get mod." How moderators might be chosen: Helpful to other players Isn't constantly making themselves the center of drama Knowledgeable about commands players can use Active on the forums Posts items in the correct areas on the forums Able to assert authority without being abusive How moderators are not chosen: Sexual orientation - It's very sad that this even has to be mentioned. This has less than anything to do with moderator duties and is not considered in the slightest. That it was a matter of discussion in game after a moderator appointment is appalling and should end immediately. Time played on server - there is no level of seniority that will get you moderator status Popularity - moderator performance has little to nothing to do with how well liked you are Recommendations from other players - frankly, if you've never run a server you probably have no idea what the hell you're talking about if you say "This player would make a good mod." Begging, or making a statement such as "Can I have admin?" I could really go on forever with the list of things that would turn me off to the idea of having you as a moderator, so we'll leave it there for now. This list is by no means all-inclusive (or exclusive). It's just a general guideline of what I look for. There are no set number of "slots" for moderators, and as people come and go the list of moderators may grow or shrink.
